Do you live in the most dangerous city in Florida?

"Dangerous" as defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, involves "possible injury, pain, harm, or loss." While a place that is considered dangerous to some might not be considered dangerous to others, there are concrete statistics that solidify just how unsafe a city is in comparison to other locations.

Crime rates (further broken down by types of crimes committed) are a good indicator that a city's safety ratings might be struggling. For example, if a city has high violent, property, or organized crime rates, it will not rank among the safest places to travel to or live in.

According to a list compiled by Safe and Sound Security, the most dangerous cities in Florida are Orlando (ranking 12th for property crime) and Miami (ranking 20th for robbery).

Here's what Safe and Sound Security had to say about the safety issues in each aforementioned city:

    Orlando:

"Despite its reputation as a tourist paradise, Orlando has a higher-than-average crime rate, particularly property crimes, such as burglary, motor vehicle theft, and larceny. The city also has a higher-than-average violent crime rate of 8.30 per 1,000 residents. The city’s vibrant nightlife and large tourist population contribute to these statistics. Efforts are ongoing to improve safety through enhanced surveillance and community policing, ensuring that residents and visitors can enjoy Orlando without fear."

    Miami:

"Miami, known for its vibrant nightlife and bustling tourist scene, also faces challenges with crime, particularly robberies. The city’s diverse population and high tourist numbers contribute to its crime statistics. Efforts to reduce crime in Miami include increased surveillance, police presence, and community programs aimed at crime prevention and education. As a result, Miami, Florida has a relatively low violent crime rate of 3.88 per 1,000 residents."

Read this article. TWICE. Then consider what the author is saying. That the reason CRIME EXISTS is that there are TOURISTS and NIGHT LIFE.NO< the reason crime exists in those two towns is because there are CRIMALS there and the police do not do their job well enough.Do not blame this on the existence of tourists!
