Man sentencing for murdering his mother in Luzerne County

A man was sentenced in Luzerne County Court after police say he brutally killed his mother in Luzerne County back in 2020. Erik Watkins changed his plea to guilty for criminal homicide of the 3rd degree in the death of his mother 60-year-old Patricia Watkins. Judge Vough accepted the plea and Watkins was immediately sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison with time served.
