    NEPA caretaker charged with stealing from dementia patient

    A Luzerne County caretaker has been charged with siphoning over $1500 from the bank account of a care-dependent woman. Dallas Township police charged 18 year old Mikayla Serenity McRae of Nanticoke with forgery, identity theft and other charges. According to the criminal complaint The daughter of the 76 year old care-dependent person, who suffers from dementia, contacted police when she discovered her mother’s checking account had been depleted and closed. The mother was a resident at the Meadows Manor Assisted Living facility in Dallas Township. McRae worked for an outside home health agency according to police.
