Deadly accident at a quarry in Luzerne County

One man is dead after a fatal accident at a quarry in Luzerne County. Jackson Township police were called to American Asphalt just before 9:30 Wednesday morning for a report of an industrial incident. Upon arrival, police investigated the death of an employee hit by a heavy machinery vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has yet to be named, but Jackson Township Police confirm he was a 68-year-old male employee of American Asphalt. An autopsy is scheduled with the Luzerne County coroner.
