Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The GRTC Pulse Rapid Transit Line is one step closer to expanding into the West End after the Henrico Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a strip mall between Parham and West Broad for $1.3 million.

Officials say the plans are to build a Pulse stop and bus transfer station there. It’s expected to be ready by 2028.

The expanded service adds four miles to the rapid-transit bus line, which currently runs from Willow Lawn in the West End, through the City of Richmond, to Rocketts Landing in the East End. Currently, more than 6,100 people use the Pulse service each day.

A public information session is slated for October 1 at the Libbie Mill Library.
