    Two Chesterfield County Schools Close Tuesday Due to Power Outage

    Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Two Chesterfield County Public Schools are closed on Tuesday due to a power outage after Monday evening’s storms.

    In a social media post , the school system said Salem Church Elementary School and Salem Church Middle School would both be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

    Officials said Dominion Energy is working to restore power, but there is not yet an estimated time of restoration.

    Separately, Richmond Public Schools announced that Cardinal Elementary School would be closed on Tuesday after the school was struck by lightning in the evening on Monday, Aug. 26. Officials said the roof of the school caught fire, and there was water damage on the second floor.
