Four law enforcement agencies in West Texas receive $140,000
ODESSA, Texas — A lot of money was given out to four law enforcement agencies in West Texas by Bustin For Badges on Thursday. Back in May, Bustin For Badges hosted their 11th Annual Clay Shoot to raise money for new equipment and technology for the Midland and Odessa Police Departments, and the Midland and Ector County Sheriff's Offices.

CASA of West Texas to now serve Pecos County, Reeves County and Brewster County
CASA of West Texas is expanding their service area from seven counties to 10 counties. CASA of West Texas will now serve Pecos County, Reeves County and Brewster County. Frontier CASA used to be the ones to serve Pecos, Reeves and Brewster Counties. However, since Frontier is dissolving, CASA of West Texas was asked to add these three to their service area so that all the children in those counties don't lose CASA advocacy services.
California high schoolers will soon need to take financial literacy class to graduate
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California high schoolers will soon be required to take a financial literacy course to graduate. The governor’s office says Gavin Newsom is expected to sign AB 2927, which would require a semester-long personal finance education course to be offered by the 2027-28 school year and make it a requirement to graduate starting with the class of 2030-31.
Odessa man dead after collision in the 1500 block of FM 1788
MIDLAND, Texas — On Wednesday, an Odessa man died in a collision on Farm-to-Market Road 1788, according to a press release from the City of Midland. The release stated that Midland Police responded to the accident at 5:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of FM 1788 when a driver from Donna, Texas, was traveling northbound in a pickup truck on 1788 and veered into the southbound lane, resulting in a collision with another pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
