Dothan Independence Day Sanitation Schedule
DOTHAN, Ala (WDNews) – Dothan Announces Independence Day Sanitation Schedule. In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, the City of Dothan’s Environmental Services division has announced that garbage (green can), recycling (blue can), and yard waste, along with bulky items, will be picked up on Thursday, July 4, 2024. This will follow the regular Thursday route.
Tax credit program awards $2.7 million aimed at boosting jobs in Alabama’s biotech industry
Eight biotech companies have been awarded a combined $2.7 million through a new state tax credit program, aiming to boost job creation in the industry. Southern Research, a non-profit focused on green energy and medical advancements, announced the awards, expecting the initial investments to generate approximately two dozen high-paying jobs in the state. Southern Research itself received nearly $3 million through the 2023 Innovate Alabama Tax Credit to establish its Therapeutics Development Fund.
Hartford teen dead in ATV wreck
HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WTVY) - An ATV wreck in Holmes County claimed the life of a Hartford teen, Tuesday night. The 13-year-old was headed east on Ma Hodges Road attempting to turn right, around 7:30 p.m. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle ran off the roadway near Chestnut Road and hit a dirt embankment, flipping the ATV.
