Tigers suffer season-opening loss to Arabia Mountain at home
COVINGTON, Ga — The regular season of the 2024-2025 football season has officially kicked off in Newton County. The Alcovy Tigers opened up the season against the Arabia Mountain Rams out of DeKalb County, but ultimately fell 61-33. The Tigers hosted the Rams at Sharp stadium Thursday, Aug 15, and the game served as the first of the season for any Newton County team.
CPD Youth Bike Club takes second bike ride of 2024
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the CPD Youth Bike Club had its second bike ride of the year. They rode approximately eight miles. This group is lead by officers from the Covington Police Department and Jan Hudson. Boys and girls ages 10 - 16 can join.
