New Amazon facility opens in Fayetteville
The giant new Amazon Fulfillment Center near Fort Liberty is starting to show signs of life. The new Amazon facility opened in June in Fayetteville at 6309 Bragg Blvd. The 1.3 million-square-foot-facility located in the Military Business Park was supposed to open in 2023, but a representative from Amazon told WRAL News the delay won't stop the company in its plans to hire 1,000 employees at the site.

Lightning strike at Sanford Golf Course puts nearly half the carts out of commission
SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — Nearly half of the golf carts at Sanford Municipal Golf Course are temporarily out of commission due to a lightning event Sunday evening. Man charged with vandalizing Gastonia mosque
GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gastonia man is charged with vandalizing a mosque over the weekend, police say. According to a police report obtained by WCNC Charlotte, Gastonia Police responded to a report of damage to the Islamic Society of Gastonia around 5:30 p.m. on July 21. The report states that three double-pane windows worth $300 each were vandalized during the incident.
