Pride parade returns to Harrisburg LGBT festival after 12-year absence
After over a decade of absence, the Pride Festival of Central Pa. is bringing back the Pride parade as a part of its annual celebration. The parade debuted in 2006 and quickly became an important staple in the festival’s lineup. In 2011, however, it was canceled due to permit issues with the city of Harrisburg, according to the festival’s website.

Pa. company laying off 70 people
The Radian Group, a mortgage insurance company, is laying off approximately 70 people in Chester County. Radian Group Inc. filed a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry informing that state it is laying off the employees at 550 East Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township near Wayne.

$500 Million Grant Awarded for I-83 South Bridge Replacement
U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced a $500 million grant from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to replace the deteriorating I-83 South Bridge, spanning the Susquehanna River between Dauphin and Cumberland counties. The grant, facilitated by the Bridge Investment Program (BIP), will allow the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to initiate the replacement of the bridge, which is currently in “poor condition” and a top priority for PennDOT due to significant safety concerns and its high daily traffic of 125,000 vehicles.
