Packers Trade For Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb In This Wild Proposal

Could the Green Bay Packers take advantage of the Dallas Cowboys‘ contract standoff with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb?

The NFL regular season is just a few weeks away, and the Cowboys have still not reached a long-term deal with Lamb. While trading him seems unlikely, it does open the door for speculation.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has named the Packers the best trade fit for Lamb at the moment and has proposed that they send fellow receiver Christian Watson, a first-round draft pick and a second-rounder to Dallas in exchange for Lamb.

This would provide Green Bay with a proven, bona fide No. 1 wide out while also supplying the Cowboys with a talented young receiver of their own (plus substantial draft capital).

The Packers are actually loaded with talent at the position, with Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks all emerging in 2023. You can even throw Bo Melton into the mix.

That being said, Green Bay does not have a true No. 1 receiver just yet, but Lamb would obviously instantly become that guy for the club.

What would CeeDee Lamb do for the Packers?

Lamb would instantly make the Packers legitimate Super Bowl contenders instead of just a trendy sleeper pick heading into 2024.

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love is coming off of a tremendous second half of 2023 when he threw 18 touchdowns and just one interception over his final eight regular-season games. He then lit up the Cowboys in Dallas during the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

He achieved all of that without a Pro Bowl pass-catcher at his disposal.

Now, throw Lamb into the mix, and imagine what that would do for the Packers’ offense?

Of course, this is probably all moot. The chances of the Cowboys actually trading Lamb seem slim to none, regardless of the fact that owner Jerry Jones put his foot in his mouth by saying that the team had no urgency to extend the superstar receiver.

Lamb has been holding out of training camp and is likely seeking a deal in the neighborhood of Justin Jefferson, who secured $35 million annually over four years from the Minnesota Vikings.

While things have certainly gotten tense in Dallas, you have to imagine that the Cowboys will ultimately come to an agreement with CeeDee Lamb.
