Dallas Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Lands Brutal Take For 2024

It hasn’t been a good offseason for the Dallas Cowboys . After a lackluster NFL Draft and free agency, the Cowboys seemed fairly content on running it back from the 2023 season.

While the 2023 regular season wasn’t bad for the Cowboys, as they finished with a 12-5 record, they were ousted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the playoffs. Dallas simply making the playoffs isn’t what the franchise or Jerry Jones wants, but they haven’t been a true contender in a while.

In addition to not really improving the roster, the Cowboys also have a contract issue with CeeDee Lamb looming over their heads. Recently, Jones commented on the situation, and it did not go well.

Bleacher Report recently named Jones as a loser during training camp so far because of the comments and the situation regarding Lamb.

Here’s what they had to say .

“While paying the 25-year-old for the next half-decade or so should be a no-brainer, Jones has let this contract situation drag out too long and get too public. The owner’s biggest blunder yet came last week, when he admitted he didn’t have a “sense of urgency about getting [an extension] done.”

Lamb not only saw those remarks, but he also reposted the quote on his X account while adding an “lol.” to sum up his thoughts on Jones’ bewildering statement.

Jones attempted to rectify the situation three days later, when he said Lamb is missed at training camp and stating that he “didn’t know” why he said there wasn’t any urgency in locking up Dallas’ best wideout in a generation to a long-term deal.”

Jerry Jones is playing a dangerous game with the Cowboys

Jones not having urgency to get a deal done with Lamb certainly doesn’t seem like the right thing to say, even if he is using it as a negotiation tactic. Lamb is coming off his best season yet, as he totaled 1,759 receiving yards, 135 receptions, and 12 receiving touchdowns.

The Cowboys giving Lamb a massive extension would be a wise move, as he is proving to be one of the best wide receivers in the league and has been very durable for the Cowboys since they drafted him as well.

Considering Lamb is improving every year so far in the league, he might very well push toward having a 2,000-yard season soon. For the Cowboys, they certainly don’t need these distractions heading into the season. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like a deal with Lamb is going to be happening anytime soon.
