1 Player Each Team in the NFC West Could Trade

Now that the NFL preseason has gotten underway, teams will have a better way of evaluating their strengths and weaknesses even though many of the starters will be playing limited roles in the games. Nevertheless, preseason games are still potential injury scares, and losing out on backups can derail the course of the season for many teams.

Furthermore, teams will also be making decisions on their final 53-man rosters, resulting in some players getting traded or facing the axe. Although the majority of the trades have already been wrapped up, there is still time for the regular season to start and that means a few trades are still possible.

Here, we will take a look at one possible candidate from each NFC West team that could be traded.

    Arizona Cardinals: Budda Baker

Starting with the Arizona Cardinals, their top safety, Budda Baker, could be traded if any team is looking for a top of the line player to add to their secondary. Baker’s name has been in the trade rumors for the last couple of seasons and he is looking to get paid.

With 2024 being the last year on his current contract, there is little to suggest that Baker would continue his career in Arizona after the end of this season. Losing Baker for nothing after having him play out this year is a gamble that the Cardinals probably should not take. The team as a whole needs to ramp up, and Arizona could use the draft capital they could earn by trading Baker.

    Los Angeles Rams: Joe Noteboom

Versatile offensive lineman Joe Noteboom is a trade candidate for the Rams to consider if the price is right. Although head coach Sean McVay is full of praise for the way Noteboom handled himself alternating between four positions on the line last year, this season will more than likely be his last for the Rams.

At 29 years old, Noteboom still has some good years left in him, and even though he is a backup in Los Angeles, other teams can find value in him as a starter.

    San Francisco 49ers: Brandon Aiyuk

Day by day, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is looking like he is on his way from San Francisco. The 49ers and Aiyuk have been locked in a contract negotiation battle for the entire offseason, and Aiyuk has made his displeasure extremely vocal. Not only that, the Arizona State alumnus has even voiced the teams he is interested in joining.

Drafted in 2020, Aiyuk has been a consistent weapon for the 49ers offense. He crossed 1,000 receiving yards in both 2022 and 2023 and is now looking for a big payday. Unfortunately, San Francisco has been unsuccessful in extending his contract, and now it looks like trading him is the best option for both parties.

    Seattle Seahawks: Darrell Taylor

One player the Seahawks may be interested in trading before the regular season starts is their edge Darrell Taylor, who has been part of the team for three years. The problem here is that Taylor is behind in the pecking order, and his three years in Seattle has yielded only 13 games thus far.

Not all is a lost cause, though, as the 27-year-old has shown prominence as a skilled pass rusher. If teams are on the lookout for a backup position to fill in their linebacker room, Seattle could be interested in doing business.
