4 Bold Predictions for Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love in 2024

    2024-08-16

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been around the NFL for four years now, but 2023 was his first year as the starting quarterback. Having sat behind former Packers legend Aaron Rodgers for the better part of three years, Love would have no doubt learned a lot from the four-time MVP.

As the 2023 season began, Love took some time to get going. In fact, he didn’t look to be in control until Week 11 when the Packers held a 3-6 record before the game. However, that Week 11 game against the Chargers was the turning point of his season, and after that, he led Green Bay to six wins over their last eight games.

Heading into his second year as a starter, let us take a look at some bold predictions for Love.

Jordan Love will win NFL MVP

With a full season under his belt in 2023, Love showed immense progress in the second half of the year, as he took the struggling Packers to the playoffs and also outdueled Dak Prescott and the Cowboys in Dallas’ home.

Along the way, Love finished with over 4,000 passing yards on the season with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. But the thing to note here is that of his 11 interceptions, eight of them came in his first seven games. That means in the last nine games he had only three picks and his last eight of 10 games had a passer rating well over 100.

The way he played toward the end of last season, Love will be in contention for an MVP-caliber year in 2024 should he improve his performance even slightly.

He will lead the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns

With 4,159 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns in the 2023 season, Love finished in seventh and second place, respectively, in those two categories. It would be safe to assume that on average, the NFL passing yards leader would throw for around 4,600 to 4,800 yards, which is very attainable for the Utah State alumnus.

Furthermore, the aforementioned Prescott led the league in passing touchdowns with 36 last season, and Love was right behind him. This year, Love will be aiming for even better production as he has settled in the Packers’ offense.

He will make his first Pro Bowl

Had Love not gotten off to a slow start, he might have received his first Pro Bowl selection last year. While that is in the past, Love will be a frontrunner to be named one of the Pro Bowl quarterbacks from the NFC in the 2024 season.

Since three quarterbacks from each conference make the cut, Love stands a good chance if he continues to display improvement and consistency in his game.

Moreover, strong showing against NFC North rivals, the Bears, Lions, and Vikings will further help his case.

Jordan Love will lead the Packers to a Super Bowl appearance

The fact of the matter is that the NFC is still the weaker of the two conferences in the NFL at the moment. The teams at the top of the conference are the Cowboys, Eagles, Lions, and the 49ers.

The Packers are not far off from these teams. In fact, Green Bay even defeated Dallas by a huge score of 48-32 in last year’s Wild Card Round, proving that they can go toe to toe with the big teams.

Much of the reason for that victory was the play of Love, who finished with 272 passing yards on a 76.2% completion rate with three touchdowns and no picks. If Love can keep up his consistency in the postseason, then he could lead Green Bay back to the Super Bowl.
