Arch Manning has been making headlines ever since his high school days. Manning is currently playing as the backup signal caller for the Texas Longhorns and is slated to be a future NFL prospect even before he has had any relevant collegiate experience.
While the Manning family has a rich history of quarterbacks to have graced the NFL, Arch Manning’s projection to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncles is not solely due to the name on his shirt. Manning’s play at his high school, Isidore Newman has already showcased his ability earning him recognition on his merit.
If all goes to plan, 2026 would be the earliest that Manning could be eligible for the NFL Draft. And while achieving success on a similar level as his family may not be as easy as it sounds, the next couple of years would go a long way in predicting his future.
Speaking of the future, the media and its buzz are already looking at the potential options for Arch Manning with his NFL rookie season expected to come in 2026. The following are a few possibilities for where Manning could land by then.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints is an option that may be possible for Arch Manning. After all, this is where the Manning legacy actually began with his grandfather Archie Manning becoming a franchise great.
Current Saints starting quarterback Derek Carr signed a four-year contract in 2023, which is set to keep him in New Orleans till the end of the 2026 season. Carr, who will be nearing 35 years of age by the time the 2026 season gets underway, may be on his way out soon and it could be the perfect time to draft Manning who could take over immediately or sit and learn from the bench in his rookie year.
New York Giants
The New York Giants are also a possible contender who may be eager to sign Manning. There is previous history in New York also with Manning’s uncle Eli spending all 16 of his years as the QB for the Giants and leading the franchise to two Super Bowls.
The Giants are currently in a terrible quarterback situation themselves. In his five years in the league, he has had just one winning season in 2022 and has been a disappointment overall. Somehow though, Jones’ contract was extended in 2023 for a further four years which means he will become a free agent at the end of the 2026 season.
Should the Giants draft Arch Manning at the start of 2026, he would be in the same situation as the one he would be if the Saints drafted him.
Denver Broncos
The next possible franchise that may want to look at drafting Manning is the Denver Broncos. This is the team the most famous and accomplished Manning, Peyton Manning played for at the end of his career. He led the Broncos to a Super Bowl win before retiring and has a good connection with the franchise.
That said, the Broncos have just drafted Bo Nix in the 2024 draft and have brought in former first-round QB Zach Wilson to add to their QB room. Wilson’s career is not looking good and he may find it difficult to land a starting role in the NFL. On the other hand, there is no credible ground on which we can comment for Nix as he is yet to make his debut.
If the Nix project doesn’t go according to plan in the next couple of years, then Denver could also be in the running to sign Arch Manning.
Carolina Panthers
There is not much to say about the Carolina Panthers other than the fact that this franchise could still be struggling in a couple of years if they don’t improve by leaps and bounds. Having drafted QB Bryce Young in 2022 as the number one overall pick, he has been left with almost nothing to work with.
The 2024 season could give us an indication of what is to come in the future but there is a strong possibility that Young could be on his way out from Carolina by the end of the 2025 season. And if the situation in Carolina is not much different than what it is today, Arch Manning may take a page out of uncle Eli’s book.
