The Buffalo Bills have been a team Fantasy Football managers have targeted for the last few years. They have a star quarterback in Josh Allen, who has helped some managers win their leagues.
This year, however, the supporting cast around Allen is vastly different. Gone are wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, who are joining AFC South teams. Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans and Davis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The team added a lot of players to help replace the production that will be lost with those two no longer on the team. A second-round pick was used on Keon Coleman out of Florida State, who has the tools to develop into a No. 1 receiver in the league.
In free agency, veterans Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, K.J. Hamler and Marquez Valdes-Scantling were added as well. With Khalil Shakir as a holdover, this is a depth chart that has gotten very crowded.
Who are the Buffalo Bills going to rely on as top playmakers to replace Diggs and Davis? Many people are focused on the wide receivers, but it is a versatile tight end who could end up benefitting the most.
Dalton Kincaid was a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Utah. The team loved the pass-catching and playmaking ability he brought to the table, selecting him instead of a wide receiver.
As a rookie, he made his impact felt right away. He played in 16 games, catching 73 passes for 673 yards and two touchdowns.
Those numbers assuredly will go up in year 2 given how much talent the team has lost at wide receiver. That is part of the reason that he is so highly regarded in the Fantasy Football world as well.
Coming into the 2024 season, Kincaid is the No. 5 ranked tight end in the NFL, per Pro Football Network’s Ryan Gosling . The only tight ends ahead of him on the list are Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions, Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens and Trey McBride of the Arizona Cardinals.
A big season could be on the horizon as there is a chance that Kincaid is Allen’s No. 1 target in the Buffalo Bills’ passing game at the start of the season as he gets used to his newest teammates at wide receiver.
