2 New York Giants Players Most Likely To Be Traded

The New York Giants might be entering a dark time. After losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football after showing a passing spark with Malik Nabers in Week 3, the Giants once again are in a hole. If the Giants hope to change their future trajectory, they might need to continue reworking their offense in a big way.

Here’s a look at perhaps the two biggest names that could be moved in the near future.

    Daniel Jones, QB

At this point, aside from one season, the Daniel Jones experiment has largely been an era of lost seasons. This year, it was clear that by moving away from Saquon Barkley and adding Malik Nabers, it was going to fall on Jones to win games with his arm. Thus far, he is just 1-3. If the slide continues and the team is 1-5 or 2-4 around the Week 6 mark, it will be time to rip the band-aid off.

Per Spotrac, the quarterback is heading into a period of time when the Giants are financially incentivized to move on. As such, if they decide they want to draft a quarterback next year, they might as well trade him by the trade deadline. There will be one or two injury situations in which teams may want to use a veteran like Jones over their current backup. The added capital can help facilitate his replacement and in the meantime, the team will have Drew Lock to turn to.

    Wan’Dale Robinson, WR

Almost like Jones, Wan’Dale Robinson is heading into the negotiation phase of his rookie contract. In other words, he is closer to the end of the deal than the beginning. As such, Robinson might be worth trading instead of paying a big deal. Thus far, according to Pro Football Reference, the New York Giants receiver has yet to eclipse 600 yards in a season.

However, with 194 yards and a touchdown this year through four games, he has the potential to set a new career record. That said, peaking only in close proximity to their contract negotiation is an instant red flag as proven by Jones.

Robinson would be a solid trade option for a team that might be looking to rebuild on offense.
