DeAndre Hopkins might be in the twilight of his NFL career, but the Tennessee Titans wide receiver still has plenty of value. However, he might be on the wrong team if his goal was to win a Super Bowl.
With the Titans 0-3 in a season that might be signaling a complete renovation on offense, trading Hopkins makes sense. With the wide receiver on the last year of his deal (per Spotrac ), the Titans might very well end up letting him walk anyway.
As such, they might as well get some value for him. Here are three teams that would make sense for the Titans.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes has uncharacteristically struggled this season, throwing for five touchdowns and four interceptions. With Travis Kelce fading potentially before our very eyes, adding Hopkins to the team wouldn’t hurt the Titans in the long run if they were going to rebuild anyway. Plus, it gives Hopkins a shot at his first Super Bowl and does right by him.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a perfect 3-0, but might lack that extra punch to put them over the top.
The unit is playing well overall, but they will need some star power to breakout at some point. Adding DeAndre Hopkins as a co-WR1 makes plenty of sense to help out Justin Fields and, who knows, even Russell Wilson.
Considering most players on the Steelers lack a ton of playoff experience, adding Hopkins would help beef up the offense in that respect as well.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams have sold fans on Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua all off-season. However, due to unfortunate injuries, the team is lacking a clear option at wide receiver. Sure, Kupp and Nacua might return in the mid-season, but they might also be delayed like a AAA video game. As such, adding Hopkins gets an instant boost for the Rams this season.
If Kupp and Nacua return, then Matthew Stafford suddenly has one of the most star-studded offenses in football. However, if one or neither returns on time, DeAndre Hopkins might be able to hold the fort anyway alongside Tutu Atwell.
