Fire destroys home in Niagara County
NEWFANE, N.Y. — A Newfane home was destroyed in a fire Friday night, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Around 9:22 p.m. emergency personnel received several calls reporting a house fire. The people inside the home were safely evacuated thanks to a Niagara County HazMat Deputy Fire Coordinator, Mark Hain, who was driving past the home at the time.

Niagara County DA announces guilty verdict in Falls murder case
Submitted by the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office. Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced a Niagara County jury returned a guilty verdict in the murder case against Marchello M. Gildersleeve, age 43, of Niagara Falls, this afternoon. Gildersleeve was found guilty of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in the slaying of 35-year-old Daniella Patterson in December of 2022 in Niagara Falls.

Major Drug Trafficking Ring Busted in Western New York
NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced the successful convictions of 14 individuals involved in a significant drug trafficking ring in Western New York. The operation was responsible for distributing over $250,000 worth of fentanyl pills and cocaine in Erie and Niagara counties. The central figures have received state prison sentences following an extensive investigation led by the Office of the Attorney General’s (OAG) Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF).

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that 14 people from Western New York were sentenced for their roles in a drug trafficking ring. After an 18-month-long investigation, it was found that more than $250,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl pills disguised as oxycodone were sold throughout Erie and Niagara counties.
