14 people from WNY charged for selling cocaine and fentanyl
BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that 14 people from Western New York were sentenced for their roles in a drug trafficking ring. After an 18-month-long investigation, it was found that more than $250,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl pills disguised as oxycodone were sold throughout Erie and Niagara counties.

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced the successful convictions of 14 individuals involved in a significant drug trafficking ring in Western New York. The operation was responsible for distributing over $250,000 worth of fentanyl pills and cocaine in Erie and Niagara counties. The central figures have received state prison sentences following an extensive investigation led by the Office of the Attorney General’s (OAG) Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF).
Motorist and passenger both arrested on warrants after traffic stop in Newfane
A motorist and his passenger were both arrested on warrants following a traffic stop early Friday on Chestnut Road in Newfane, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported. According to the report, a deputy pulled over a vehicle with a headlight out at 2:38 a.m. and determined that the driver, Richard L. Baldwin, 40, of Wilson, gave him a false name. Once he was properly identified, Baldwin was found to be wanted on four full-extradition felony warrants from Indiana on charges that included methamphetamine possession and auto theft.
