Police, firefighters and other first responders were on the scene of a train crash in Niagara Falls Monday morning.

It was just around 8:30 a.m. when the CSX train jumped the tracks and crashed into a garage at the corner of 35th Street and Seneca Avenue.

No one was injured but the homeowners tell 7 News if their car wasn't parked inside they're not sure what may have happened.

Take a look at this bird's eye view from Google Earth, you can see the large railyard and two tracks that turn off toward the neighborhood. The end of that track is just feet from the home.

An engineer 7 News spoke with believes the train was attempting a three-point turn when it jumped the track.

The Niagara Falls fire chief confirmed to 7 News there was no one on board and the train was being controlled remotely.

Aside from investigating what went wrong, the other concern is about 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled, but the fire chief tells 7 News the clean-up process is well underway.

CSX issued the following statement on Monday:

"Our primary focus right now is the health and safety of onsite staff and personnel, the surrounding community, and mitigating risk to the environment. CSX appreciates the swift response of the Niagara Falls Fire Department. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation."

7 News has been following concerns about the lack of barriers in residential neighborhoods and trains driven remotely with no engineer on board since earlier this year .
