    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

One of the best parts about Grandma’s Easy Salmon Patties is just how simple they are to make. With only a few pantry staples and canned salmon, this recipe is a budget-friendly option that doesn’t sacrifice flavor. The combination of lightly seasoned salmon, crispy breading, and a golden-fried crust makes these patties a hit with both kids and adults. Plus, it’s versatile—serve them on their own, with a side of mashed potatoes, or even on a bun for a salmon patty sandwich.

The secret to these patties lies in their balance of flavor and texture. A mix of finely chopped onions, breadcrumbs, and seasonings adds depth to the rich salmon, while an egg binds everything together perfectly. The result? A deliciously tender patty that’s just crisp enough on the outside without being greasy.

    Recipe: Grandma’s Easy Salmon Patties

    Ingredients:

    • 1 can (14.75 oz) of salmon, drained and flaked
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
    • Lemon wedges and parsley for garnish (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. In a large bowl, combine the drained salmon, beaten egg, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
    2. Form the mixture into small patties, about the size of your palm. You should get around 6-8 patties depending on the size.
    3. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    4. Once the oil is hot, gently place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
    5. Transfer the cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
    6. Serve warm, garnished with lemon wedges and parsley if desired.
