It's always unpleasant & unfortunate for me to bring you the news that another Small Business is Closing in the area! This is another one that I recommended for people to try, then bam, just like that, they are closing!

Carlito's Soul Kitchen, is the type of Southern style Restaurant that you don't see too everyday! Especially in a small city like Wheeling! This was more of a Fine Dining Soul Food establishment, with a exordinary menu! Soulfood is usually delicious, but it's presentation isn't always too appealing. If someone never tried it, they wouldn't really know what they are looking at! But it's usually packed with different flavorful taste that touchest the soul! That's why its called Soulfood!

When meeting the owner of Carlito's, I tood him, coming from one chef to another, I tip my hat to him. He has managed to make the presentation of Soulfood eye catching & very appealing! Not only that, his menu was well put together (properly), chosing a great location by the water, I mean, he really dotted his I's and crossed his T's with this one! I was honestly shooked because only someone who has attended Culinary Arts school could truely understand & appreciate his approach on this!

So It makes me wonder! Was this place too good to be true for the locals? The way I see it, this spot should have had a line of people wrapped around the building waiting to get in everyday! This is far from your typical restaurant, in fact, I want to say that having a restaurant of this style & magnitude actually is a huge complement to the city & should have been a huge tourist attraction, with plenty of local support! Let me be clear, I am not saying that this is his reason for closing his door's, but I just don't know why a great restaurant like this isn't super packed especially with the casino mins away!

The owner's heart is for the City & he wanted to create something for the local people to experience & enjoy! In my opinion, he has achieved that goal! He did say that he has plans that he didn't want to put out in the public just yet, but I'm sure whatever they are, if it has anything to do with food, he'll succeed!

For now, he plans to sale or lease the building alone with the 2 building located next door! The other 2 buildings are currently being occupied as rental units so they produce additional income aside from the restaurant! If you are interested in Buying or Leasing, you could send him a message on his Facebook page! I think this would make a great investment for whomever interested!
