Muhammad Ali's Trainning Camp: WWMAD?

Throwback Thursday: A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit Muhammad Ali's Training Camp! Watch the video above & you will see how much I appreciated having had the opportunity & experience!

Now that you watched, lets get to it! The theme of The Honorable Muhammad Ali's training camp is "What would Muhammad Ali Do" or (WWMAD) for short! Remember this sentence through out this article!

If you don't know who Muhammad Ali was, Long Story Short, he is othen referred to as the Greatest Boxer Ever! He is no longer with us, and guess what, someone has purchased his old training camp! Actually, that someone is John Madden's brother! Somewhere along the lines, the name of his training camp got changed to "Fighter's Heaven!" Along with the name change, it went from a training camp to a Museum!

This place is a beauty place, I think the concept that they were running (at the time) of my initial visit, was a good one! However, I did have a few problems or things that I disliked about the place! So when I returned to visit for a second time, the person managing it was a little dishonest! He told me it was completely free to stay in one of the cabins on the weekend as long guest clean up behind themselves. So I invited a family member and his wife there who is very involved with fashion and media! When they arrived, the manager said, to my face, that he doesn't remember ever saying that! (WWMAD)?

The second thing that I didn't like, there is a onsite Mos where Muhammad Ali used to hold his services while he trained! It is part of the Muslim Religion that, whenever you walk into a Mos, right foot first, you take your shoes off! I am sure this is something Muhammad Ali used to do! I think it is very disrepectful to him that they do not honor this!

Well you might think I was a little disappointed by management having selective memory & forgetting, (all of a sudden), that he ran out of freebie's as soon as my family member's arrived! Yes, I kinda was at the time to be honest! The drove 2 hours away to visit & also to help attract more eye's on this great historical place that not too many people know exist! Nowadays, everyone is on a fuel budget, but when they offered to even (pay/donate) to stay, management said that they would have to book even though no guest were staying that weekend! So, when he said that, we all sort of looked at one another, confused, but understanding that he just didn't want them as guest or maybe the didn't fit his critiria or something!

So moral of the story is this: What Would Muhammad Ali Do (WWMAD)? I don't know who sold this property to the Madden's! For them, this was a good investment! I don't know if the Hororable Muhammad Ali had any type of friendship with the Madden's! I doubt it! To be honest, I think Muhammad Ali would not have just sold his property to the highest bidder! I think he would have wanted someone to have it that would have tried to give back to the community, etc, etc! I for sure believe that he wouldn't have wanted anyone to walk inside where he put his head to pray with their shoes on!

I did attempt to reach out to his daughter on Instagram! I wanted to inquire if she was fully aware of how this place was being handled! She has a lot of IG followers so she probably just scrolled right pass my message!

But with all of that said; when we pass on, to whatever is next, We can not take any of this stuff with us! We no longer have control on what happens after we leave! So if you are working hard everyday, in hopes of one day leaving everything behind, your best bet is to make sure you have all your ducks lined up before you go! Not saying that he didn't, this man had a very hard and complicated life!

Which brings me to say, try to live your life in a way that people who don't know you would want to make sure that you are being done right, even in the grave!
