Mid-State Fair daily schedule for Saturday, July 27
The Country Rodeo Finals is the culmination of hard work and stellar performances during the morning’s rodeo events. Featured events include Match Roping, Team Penning, Double Mugging, Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, and more. This year’s show features American Freestyle Bullfighting competition featuring World Champion Bullfighter Alex McWilliams. Another highlight will be the 2023 PRCA Announcer of the Year, Anthony Lucia, calling the action. PBR Entertainer Matt Merritt will keep the crowd laughing all night. The beloved parachute flag drop will also make a return to open the show.
Students to receive school supplies at annual shopping spree
This year, 150 students from Paso Robles and surrounding areas will participate. – RE/MAX Parkside Real Estate, Paso Robles, announced its 23rd annual Up With Kids Back to School Shopping Spree event will take place on Aug. 10 at the Paso Robles Target Store. This community event supports local students by providing necessary supplies and clothing to start the school year with confidence.
Two local boxers win at state championship
– Local youth boxers Caiden Perez and JJ Subia recently earned titles at the 2024 Southern California State Amateur Boxing Championships, which was held in Perris from July 12 to 15. Both boxers train at the Goat Shack Boxing Club in Paso Robles, which opened in January 2023. Subia, who is 21 years old, is also the owner of the club.
