As the warm weather begins to cool and leaves start to fall off trees, leaving the once green scenery barren, numerous people and businesses throughout the Nisqually Valley are set to celebrate the change from summer to fall with different autumn and Halloween-themed events.

Lacamas Valley Ranch trick or treat and market

Lacamas Valley Ranch, located at 3902 288th St. S. in Roy, is scheduled to host its trick-or-treat and market event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. Admission to the ranch costs $5 per person, and children under 2 years old can enter for free. The farm also recommends that attendants bring cash for vendors due to the farm being located in a “poor service area.”

Admission includes free hot chocolate, photo opportunities and the chance to shop and support local small-business vendors, including food trucks, pumpkins and more.

A cash donation of any amount will be collected to visit the farm’s animal barn, and Lacamas Valley Ranch wrote that “every penny will be directly donated to Hope for Wild Hearts.” Sneak peeks and information about the event will be posted on the Lacamas Valley Ranch Facebook page.

    We Love Rainier WA

We Love Rainier WA, a community enrichment organization located in Rainier, will host its “2024 Best Decorated House” contest for the upcoming Halloween season. Participants must reside within the Rainier School District, and We Love Rainier WA will pick its winner on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Residents can submit their “scary Halloween House” to the organization on its self-titled Facebook group. Prizes will be awarded for first place, second place and third place. The organization can be contacted at 360-292-5363 with any further questions about the contest.

We Love Rainier WA will also host its annual trunk-or-treat event, beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Wilkowski Park in Rainier. Those interested in setting up a trunk-or-treat booth for the event must arrive and register at 1 p.m.

At the free event, attendants can dress up in a costume, trick or treat from different decorated vehicles, and enjoy food from local vendors, play games for all ages and listen and dance to music.

    Prestige Senior Living Rosemont

Prestige Senior Living Rosemont, 215 Killion Road SE, has emerged in recent years as an organization that consistently remains active within the Yelm community. It’s scheduled to host a Halloween celebration from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 in Yelm.

According to a Facebook post made by the organization, trick-or-treaters participating in the event can receive a free hot dog, while also getting the opportunity for indoor trick or treating at its location. Participants may also complete a “spooktacular” mini-haunted house adventure.

Deschutes Valley pumpkin patch and corn maze

Located at 17845 Lawrence Lake Road SE, Deschutes Valley pumpkin patch and corn maze will open its farm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout October. The pumpkin patch and corn maze will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the farm’s haunted corn maze will operate from 7 p.m. to midnight every Friday and Saturday night in October.

The farm features pumpkin carving, decorative pumpkins, corn stalks and carving kits. It will also include a corn maze, “touch-a-truck,” a hay jump, a bounce house, hay rides, a pumpkin sling and more.

Admission costs $10, and children aged 3 and under can enter for free. Pumpkins at the farm cost 54 cents per pound, and haunted corn maze admission costs $20.

Deschutes Valley accepts cash, debit and credit with a 3 % fee on cards.

    Haunted Witches Market

Haunted Witches Market will set up at McKenna Park, located at 35621 state Route 507 in Roy, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2024. According to a Facebook post by “The Reiki Goddess,” the event will include a trunk or treat, different local vendors and entertainment. Those interested in becoming a vendor can contact centaursistersofthemoon@gmail.com with a business description and photos.
