    Multiple departments respond to Monday morning fire

    NITRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Multiple fire departments responded to an early morning fire on Monday.

    According to the Nitro Fire Department, this morning, a residential fire broke out at the intersection of 33rd St and 2nd Avenue, drawing a response from multiple fire departments and emergency services.

    Units from Nitro Fire Department’s Station 80, including Rescue/Engine 851, Chief 801, and PIO 840, were joined by mutual aid units from Saint Albans Fire Department, Teays Valley Fire Department, Institute Fire Rescue, and Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.

    Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke billowing from all four sides of the house.

    Fire crews quickly entered the residence and managed to knock down the flames, bringing the fire under control.

    Fortunately, the house was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

    The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

    Assistance at the scene was also provided by the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority, Kanawha County Emergency Management & Floodplain Management, and the Nitro Police Department.
