Boulder’s Best: Art Fest Is On The Mall This Weekend!
This weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday has Boulder again hosting the annual outdoor Art Fest on the Boulder Mall. Many local artists display their works, lining the already beautiful Boulder Mall. I will write a blog with “real” pictures of my Sunday visit to the Art Fest. In the meantime, in anticipation of the fundamentally human-created pictures, I put together these CHATgpt pics. I’ll take a little of the credit for knowing how and what to ask CHAT to paint. On the other hand, I could not have done this alone.

Former Buff D’Shawn Schwartz prepared for second run with Team Colorado
Ahead of his second stint with Team Colorado, former CU Buffs guard/forward D’Shawn Schwartz is playing some of the best basketball of his life. During this week’s training camp for The Basketball Tournament, Schwartz stood out as one of the team’s top scorers, a familiar role for the lefty shooter. Team Colorado head coach and current CU men’s basketball assistant coach Zach Ruebesam believes Schwartz is playing with plenty of confidence heading into Saturday’s opening game. “The TBT is so hard because someone could go for 30 points one night and it might be another guy the next night,” Ruebesam said. “But,...

Deion Sanders collected substantial discretionary bonus last year, per USA TODAY Sports
Fresh off his first season leading the Colorado Buffaloes football program, head coach Deion Sanders received a substantial discretionary bonus late last year, according to public records obtained by USA TODAY Sports. The report revealed Coach Prime collected $250,000 in appreciation of the “national recognition” he brought to CU last season. Sanders’ guaranteed salary for his first season at Colorado was $5.5 million. “The employee recognition bonus is a discretionary bonus awarded by Athletic Director Rick George for the immense impact Coach Prime has made on the football program, the Athletic Department, and the university in his first season,” the university said in a statement this week to USA TODAY Sports. USA TODAY Sports reported that former CU Boulder chancellor Phil DiStefano authorized the bonus pay form on Dec. 1. Coach Prime’s five-year contract has several other built-in incentive-based bonuses, including $150,000 for winning six games, $200,000 for getting invited to a New Year’s Six bowl game and $750,000 for winning a national championship. Colorado finished 4-8 in Sanders’ first season at the helm. Contact/Follow us @BuffaloesWire on X (Twitter), and like our page on Facebook for ongoing coverage of Colorado news, notes and opinions.
