Nixa (Mo.) five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell felt like a five-star in the presence of Kirby Smart and Georgia’s coaching staff on Saturday.
The No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings was back in town for Georgia’s end-of-the-summer cookout event.
Georgia hosted a strong list of commits in the class of 2025 as well as a few key 2026 targets. Cantwell felt good about how things went on Saturday in Athens.
Connecting with Georgia’s current players and commits in the 2025 class was the highlight for the five-star tackle.
“Getting to talk to more players and commits and keep learning more about the program in that regard,” Cantwell said. “They (the coaching staff) also treated us very well and made me feel like I was a top priority.”
Cantwell as able to get a look at Georgia’s meetings and workouts as they ramp up for the start of camp next week ahead of the 2024 season. He also got to spend some valuable time with Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels.
“I got to have a closer look at off-season workouts, and meetings and I got to experience a true recruiting-based event at Georgia,” Cantwell said. “Getting to keep building relationships and learning from Coach Searels and the rest of the offensive line staff made it special.”

Cantwell is beginning to shrink his list of contenders down to a handful. He announced a top 14 two weeks ago. Georgia was among them.
Many programs appear to be chasing Cantwell’s in-state program, Missouri. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the Tigers early on. Missouri has a 27.4 percent chance of landing Cantwell at the moment.
Cantrell is already looking toward the next cut.
“I have it whittled down to 14; I’m trying to get it to 6-7 now,” Cantwell said. “I’m searching for that currently.”
