The rivalry always produces buzzworthy moments and happenings, and this week’s matchup is certainly a must-see event. Former star running back Saquon Barkley will return to his previous home venue for the first time as a visitor, in the uniform of a despised opponent. Seeing the 2018 No. 2 overall pick in Philadelphia green may elicit the loudest derisive local crowd reactions since Kristaps Porzingis first returned to Madison Square Garden as a Knicks opponent. The Eagles will be looking to improve on a 3-2 record. New York had generated some renewed hope with a Week 5 win at Seattle, but then flopped in its return home against Cincinnati last week. Philadelphia has won four of the last five and six of the past nine meetings between the NFC East teams. They returned to down Cleveland, 20-16. The bye allowed Philadelphia’s top two wide receivers to rest for another week and return for the Cleveland game. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were back in action against the Browns. Both WRs caught TD passes against Cleveland. Their presence will continue to be essential with Dallas Goedert dealing with a knee injury. Barkley is a new and explosive weapon that could prove to be pivotal this season. He adds dynamic elements to the Philadelphia offense, and we may see the unit hit an impressive stride in the weeks ahead. For now, the Eagles will try to keep pace with the 4-2 Commanders in the division while aiming to re-establish a presence as a true NFC contender. New York pulled off a surprising road win at Seattle two weeks ago and will look to regain that form for this matchup. The Giants will welcome back the guy who may make their fans ultimately forget about Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. Malik Nabers appears to be on track to return from a two-game absence, as he was cleared from the concussion protocol. The exciting rookie is listed with a groin injury but has been able to practice in full. Devin Singletary, who was out with a groin injury the past two games, is also expected to return. Another rookie, Tyrone Tracy Jr., has performed very well while the veteran has been inactive. The Giants may be able to exhibit a new dual threat backfield to further challenge the Eagles defense.New York’s defense creates a lot of pass pressure, and the unit has been underappreciated. Brown finished with 116 yards and a TD last week. He has 5+ catches, 115+ and a TD in each of two games played this season. Smith caught TD passes in three of his last four matchups with the Giants. Hurts is completing 67.5 percent of his passes while also rushing for two TDs this season. While the Philly QB is only up to 196 rushing yards so far this season, having Barkley as a backfield partner can keep defenses off balance more than ever before. On defense, Josh Sweat is aiming for a third consecutive game with a sack. Brandon Graham had a season-high five tackles and a tackle for a loss last week. Reed Blankenship leads the secondary with two interceptions. Darius Slayton, who filled in well for the rookie over the last two games, caught a TD pass in each matchup with the Eagles last year. Wan’Dale Robinson caught five balls for 85 yards in his last game played vs. Philadelphia. He is emerging as a very dependable target for Daniel Jones. Tracy added a new jolt to the offense over the past two games and can combine with Nabers to raise the overall level of play on offense. Last week, Tracy totaled 107 scrimmage yards and finished with six catches while rushing for his first career TD. He will be seeking to roll up 100+ scrimmage yards for a third consecutive game.Jones has protected the ball well enough in his last three games against the Eagles, with no interceptions thrown. On defense, Dexter Lawrence has a sack in two of three home games and he is tied for the NFL lead with seven. Azeez Ojulari registered two sacks last week. </div></body>
