AVILLA — Two women were seriously injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash on S.R. 3 Tuesday afternoon, the Noble County Sheriff’s Department reported. Sara Taylor of Avilla suffered multiple major injuries and was transported to Parkview Regional Hospital. She was listed in critical condition as of 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A 1/4 pound of heroin seized in Ligonier
LIGONIER — An investigation by the Noble County Narcotics Investigation Unit led to the seizure of 1/4-pound of heroin and three arrests Friday afternoon in Ligonier. The drug unit’s investigation led to a traffic stop by Ligonier Police Department Patrolman Chris Shearer, which resulted in the alleged drug find and arrests.
