National track star Claire Stegall committed to Florida on Thursday, according to the Nolensville cross country team's social media post on X.

As one of the top female high school distance runners in the nation, Stegall ended her junior season as the Tennessee Gatorade Track and Field Runner of the Year . She was also named the Tennessean Sports Awards Girls Athlete of the Year and the Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year. She was also nominated for the Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Stegall broke her own state track records in the 800- and 1,600-meter races at the Great 8 Invitational this year. Her 1,600 mark in the Great 8 (4:35.36) ranks fifth nationally in 2024, according to athletic.net.

Stegall continued that dominance in late May by winning her first TSSAA track and field Class AAA 800 state title, setting a state record in a time of 2:08.63. She won her third straight 1,600 state title.

Last fall, Stegall took home her second straight Class AAA state cross country title in a time of 16:56.32.
