Jakeob Stewart Competes in Intercollegiate Horse Show
Jakeob Stewart, son of Brian and Megan Stewart, is competing for Colby Community College on May 3 at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, in Mill Spring, North Carolina. He will be showing in the beginner horsemanship division. Stewart is a 2022 graduate of Uniontown High School.
SHS Baccalaureate next Wed., May 8th
Stockton’s Baccalaureate will be at the Nova Theatre on Wednesday, May 8th, at 7:00 p.m. The Stockton High School FCA is the sponsor of this event. The community is invited to the event, with refreshments provided by Fusion. (Look for the ad in this week’s edition.)
NV Junior High relay team brings home the bronze
4x200 Relay Teams from left to right - Andrea Meraz, Kylee Ledbetter, Rene' Horacek, Annika McKinney. The Northern Valley Middle School girls traveled to Quinter, KS, to compete in the 43rd Annual Quinter MS Invitational with 15 other schools. The weather was unpredictable between warm, cold, windy and rainy. The Lady Huskies saw some tough competition but worked hard to set personal records and earn a few medals. The 4x200 relay team of Andrea Meraz, Kylee Ledbetter, Rene’ Horacek and Annika McKinney had a good day placing third out of thirteen teams.

Liberal, Kansas – Seward County struggled to take down Colby twenty-four hours ago as the Saints fell behind in the series 2-1 entering Monday’s contest where Keagon Pitton led the way for SCCC to topple the Trojans 11-6 to split the series to start the final week of the regular season in 2024.
MCC Freshman Louie Tucker has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season with Stetson University
McCook Community College Men's Basketball player Louie Tucker was third team all-Region IX, Omaha World Hearald All-Midlands JUCO team and all-NCCAC. He averaged 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Tucker will continue his basketball career at Stetson University, a D1 school in DeLand. Florida. McCook Community College Volleyball Standout Jordan Duzenack Signs Letter of Intent
MCC sophomore Jordan Duzenack will play volleyball at Catawba College, a D2 school in Salisbury, N.C. She played in 26 games and had 188 kills, 52 total blocks and 62 digs. “Cabrini” to be shown at Nova Theatre this weekend
The St. Thomas Catholic Church, through donations by the Altar Society, Knights of Columbus and Parish Council, is sponsoring the movie “Cabrini” at the Nova Theatre in Stockton for this weekend, Friday, May 3rd, Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th, at 7:00 p.m. each evening.
