McCook Community College Volleyball Standout Jordan Duzenack Signs Letter of Intent
MCC sophomore Jordan Duzenack will play volleyball at Catawba College, a D2 school in Salisbury, N.C. She played in 26 games and had 188 kills, 52 total blocks and 62 digs. “Cabrini” to be shown at Nova Theatre this weekend
The St. Thomas Catholic Church, through donations by the Altar Society, Knights of Columbus and Parish Council, is sponsoring the movie “Cabrini” at the Nova Theatre in Stockton for this weekend, Friday, May 3rd, Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th, at 7:00 p.m. each evening. One of the tools that meteorologists use is the Skew-T chart from forecast models. This gives forecasters an idea of what will take place above the ground at a location or across a general area. A Skew-T like the one I took of the McCook area for 6pm this evening, offers detailed information for forecasters in order to predict how large hail potentially could be during a severe weather event.

Celebrations abounded at the Hansen Museum last week. Friday, we celebrated Paul Grammon, the Museum’s long time Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor last official day of work. The party started with a luncheon and continued to the afternoon with a very well-attended come-and-go reception. Paul will be missed, and we wish him health and happiness as he says goodbye to forty-hour work weeks.
Woman seriously injured Tuesday in pickup truck-semi crash in western Kansas
COLBY, Kan. (WIBW) - A woman suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning when the pickup truck she was driving collided with a semitrailer in western Kansas, officials said. The collision was reported at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of County Road K and County Road 15 in Thomas County. The location was about 11 miles southwest of Colby.
Horsemanship Events Planned
A Kansas college is offering a couple of camps on horsemanship,. According to Colby Community College, its equestrian team is offering two horsemanship day camps in May at the CCC Agricultural Center three miles east and one mile north of Colby. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the camps conclude at 3:30 p.m.

MCC’s Aiden Johnson named pitcher of the week
McCook Community College sophomore Aiden Johnson has been named the Region IX Pitcher of the Week April 15-21. The right hander threw a complete game shutout in his start against Luna Community College. He took the mound in Game 1 and went the distance in the 6-0 win. He pitched seven innings without allowing a run, while giving up three hits. Johnson also struck out 11 and walked only one.
