Surely this could have been accomplished during the regular session — in 2024 or 2025. I have credited Gov. Laura Kelly for political savvy in bending […] The post One simple reality explains muddled Kansas legislative special session, taxes and stadiums alike appeared first on Kansas Reflector.

Two for one: Norton's Ruder gets back her 3A javelin gold and meet record | Western Kansas Girls State Track and Field Champions
As the 2024 track and field season progressed this spring, one thing became clear. The Class 3A girls javelin field was flat-out loaded. In late April, four of the top-eight throwers in the state came from 3A, including two of the top three in Norton’s Jenessa Ruder and Heritage Christian’s Maddy Wolf. And while only Ruder and Wolf were able to maintain their spots in the top 10 going into the State Outdoor Track and Field Championships – sitting No. 2 and 3 throughout the season behind only Olathe Northwest’s Val Galligan – there was little room for error for that duo with eight 3A throwers overall finishing the season with throws of 130 feet or further.
