Police identify driver in deadly 18-wheeler crash in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge Police identified the driver who was killed in an 18-wheeler crash on I-10 East Monday morning. According to police, Jamoliddin Tokhirov, 38, was driving a 2022 Freightliner Semi Tractor headed east on I-10, near the Highland Road exit. Investigators said for unknown reasons, the tractor-trailer hit the inside concrete barrier and traveled across multiple lanes before hitting the concrete guardrail and the outside guardrail.

New Orleans man pleads guilty to carrying a machine gun on Bourbon Street
A New Orleans man pleaded guilty in federal court last Wednesday to possessing a machine gun while walking in the French Quarter in 2022. Xavion Watts, 21, was in the 400 block of Bourbon Street on Oct. 29, 2022, when New Orleans Police Department officers noticed a gun-shaped object protruding from underneath his shirt, according to U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. Watts fled on foot as officers approached him, but he was eventually apprehended, Evans' office said in a press release Monday.
