New Orleans committee to decide if Krewe of Alla will replace Nyx
NEW ORLEANS — On Wednesday, the New Orleans Governmental Affairs and Quality of Life Committee took a major vote affecting the uptown parade route. Committee members voted 6-0 for the Krewe of Alla to replace the Mystic Krewe of Nyx on the Wednesday before Fat Tuesday. The decision still needs a final vote from the entire council.

Baton Rouge saw strong job growth in June
The Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area added 1,300 jobs from May to June to bring its total to 426,200, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
