Man dies after jumping out of moving vehicle in Madison County

NORFOLK, Neb. ( KCAU ) — Officials say that one person died after allegedly jumping from a vehicle traveling at 60 miles per hour.

According to a release, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Norfolk Fire and Rescue were called to 845 Road and 549 Avenue on Sunday at 9:41 p.m. for a report of an injured person.

The release states that when emergency responders arrived, they found Jaden Sporleder, 22, of Pierce, and began performing life-saving measures before being transported to a local hospital. Sporleder would later succumb to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle told authorities that Sporleder allegedly jumped out of the front passenger door of the pickup truck while driving at 60 miles per hour, according to the release. Sporleder then fell under the vehicle and was struck.

The release specified that alcohol was believed to be a contributing factor in the incident, but the driver was not believed to be driving under the influence. There is no sign of foul play at this time.

The incident is still under investigation.
