    17-year-old charged in Norfolk fatal shooting

    NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 17-year-old boy was charged in connection to a deadly shooting in Norfolk on Thursday morning that left an 18-year-old dead, police said.

    Police responded to reports of a shooting around 3 a.m. on Thursday in the 500 block of Grantham Road. Officers found an 18-year-old man suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital were he later died. He was identified as Branden M. Davis Jr.

    A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm causing injury and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
