NORMAN, OK ( FOX 44 ) — The up-and-down run through conference play continued for the 21st-ranked Baylor Women’s Basketball team as the Bears lost to No. 23 Oklahoma on Wednesday night.

The first quarter was one that featured both teams trading runs, as the Sooners got off to a quick 13-3 lead, before the Bears responded to cut the deficit to 21-19 at the end of the quarter.

From there, Oklahoma continued to build its lead out slowly but surely to the point where the Sooners led by as many as 14 in the second half.

Baylor responded once again though, cutting the deficit to as few as four points with 4:46 left in the game, but OU closed on a 12-5 run to put the Bears away for good.

With the defeat, Nicki Collen and company fall to 18-6 on the season. They’ll next be in action on Sunday, February 18th when they host Texas Tech at 3:00 pm.
