Monday was a monumental day in the college football world, but especially for the Oklahoma Sooners. And, they were ready for it. As soon as midnight hit, signifying it was the next day, the Sooners dropped a hype video.

Let's back up a bit, though. After 28 years in the Big 12, the Sooners and the Texas Longhorns have decided to join the SEC, the most competitive football conference in the country. This has been known since early 2023, but the schools haven't been able to join until this upcoming season. Monday was the first official day of the season, which means it was the first day that Oklahoma was in the SEC.

And, like I said, the school was ready for it. They dropped a hype video for the new era of Oklahoma sports.

The videos show the school covering up the Big 12 logo on the football stadium with an SEC logo, and stitching the uniforms with the SEC patch. The SEC's motto is "It just means more," and watching that patch go on the jerseys, it definitely feels that way.

The Sooners played in the Big 12 for 28 years and won 14 conference championships in football. Now, it's time for a new challenge, where they will be forced to take on the giants of the college football world in Georgia and Alabama. If they didn't think they could do it, they wouldn't have made the decision in the first place.

This is not only the most competitive football conference, but it's also one of the most competitive, if not the most competitive, in every other sport, too.

The Sooners won't have it easy at all, but it's clear they are ready for the challenge. And, the hype video should only get fans ready, too.

With Oklahoma joining the SEC, they have already taken everything even more seriously - especially recruiting, where they have attempted to take big-time recruits away from other big-time schools , and, they are already trying to start new SEC rivalries.

The future is going to be so much fun.
