Authorities confirm, May 3, 2023, a federal grand jury returned a four-count Indictment against Dustin Powell, charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, and possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
According to public record, in March 2023, Powell was found to be possessing several firearms, as well as over 500 grams of methamphetamine and over 40 grams of fentanyl.
On June 28, 2024, U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick sentenced Powell to serve 300 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
In announcing the sentence, Judge Wyrick noted his possession of ten firearms in this case, including a Heavy Counter Assault Rifle, as well as the extent and nature of Powell’s criminal history.
Public record further reflected that Powell has several previous felony convictions, including attempting to elude a police officer in Grady County, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of paraphernalia in Cleveland County, and malicious injury to property in Cleveland County, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
