    OU football predicted to finish eighth in SEC preseason media poll

    NORMAN — OU was picked by SEC media members to finish eighth in the preseason poll released Friday.

    The Sooners totaled 2,022 points, 146 behind Tennessee, which was voted seventh with 2,168 points. Georgia was picked to win the SEC by a 289-point margin over Texas, which was predicted to finish second.

    The Bulldogs boasted 165 first-place votes followed by Texas' 27, Alabama's 12, Mississippi's four, LSU's two, and notably Vanderbilt's two and South Carolina's one.

    OU linebacker Danny Stutsman and safety Billy Bowman Jr. were selected to the preseason All-SEC first team, while wide receiver Deion Burks made the third team.
