The 2024 college football season is almost here, which means it is time to get ready to root for your Oklahoma Sooners as they embark on a new journey as the newest members of the historic SEC.

Oklahoma will kick off the season against the Temple Owls in Week 1 before a Power Four clash with the Houston Cougars in Week 2. The Sooners won’t leave Norman until Week 4 when they open SEC play against the Tennessee Volunteers. This game will feature Brent Venables facing a former OU quarterback, Josh Heupel who took over as head coach in 2021. The two coaches were on the Sooners staff together in 2004 and 2006 until Venables’ departure after the 2011 season.

Following an open week, the Sooners will face off with the Texas Longhorns in their annual Red River Rivalry matchup at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on the Texas State Fairgrounds before former tight ends coach Shane Beamer leads the South Carolina Gamecocks into Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Oct. 19 before a trip to the Sip to face the Ole Miss Rebels to close out October’s schedule.

Oklahoma will host Maine in the final nonconference matchup of 2024 before three massive games to close out the season. Oklahoma rekindles their conference rivalry with Missouri as they head to Faurot Field in Columbia. OU will return home to host the Alabama Crimson Tide and close out the season in Death Valley against the LSU Tigers down on the Bayou.
