    Rush TikTok is officially back.

    As college girls nationwide begin to move in early to partake in rush week, the week before they welcome potential new members through their doors is spent prepping for current members during work week. This week is meant to motivate members as they get ready to recruit their new pledge class and often comes with themed days to help keep morale up as long days of practicing songs, house tours and having mock conversations occur.

    This statement might be unpopular, but when I was in college and going through rush and recruitment, I loved work week and rushing potential new members. Granted, that might be because I can talk to a brick wall and love spending time with my friends. Our sorority is always committed to work week themes, with many members going all out. Our themes ranged from PJ day, dressing like celebrities, crazy wig day, or fraternity day.

    Thankfully, when I was doing it, TikTok had not taken off yet, so no one saw the crazy costumes we sported, but in today’s rush day and age, many sororities highlight their work week outfits and make promotional videos for their sorority to show off their chapter’s personality.

    Many TikToks are polished, prim, and proper, but this year, The University of Oklahoma is getting its own subgenre of TikTok because of its workweek theme. Each year, their Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter has a day where the theme is simply “blue,” as that is their chapter’s color.

    Now, before we dive into the chaos of this “blue theme,” earlier this week, the chapter’s official TikTok posted videos that fall right in line with “Rush Tok,” following the SEC formula that made these TikToks take off.

    And given the 2024 Olympics are underway, the “going for golf” theme makes sense:

    @oukkg KKG IS GOING FOR GOLD!! 🥇🩵Welcome to the show! Rush 2024 is in full swing! #gokkg #ourush #sororityrush #rushtok #kappakappagamma #oklahoma #olympics #olympics2024 #kkg #kappa #oukappa ♬ original sound – Oklahoma Kappa🗝️

    It seems very sorority, right? As someone who went to school right down the road in Stillwater, we often saw this “blue” theme on social media, where girls were decked out in head-to-toe light and dark blue. The outfits I always saw always looked “normal” for work week and gave a field day vibe. Maybe you’d see some crazy outfits. But this year, it looks like the members got dressed mid-acid trip.

    Every member really committed to throwing out some of their weirdest outfits. It covers it all, from girls wearing blue power suits with blue joker paint to blow-up blue blob outfits. You want to see a Papa Smurf newscaster-style outfit? They’ve got it. Avatar catsuits? Yep, got that too. Really, any outlandish combination you can think of, someone in their chapter has made it into an outfit.

    I could sit here and talk about this all day, but nothing gives these wild looks justice; you have to see it for yourself.

    @lolablauer Go kappa🔑😜@carley ross @GABRIELLA! #ourush #kappa #oukappa #kkg ♬ low key casual outfit – clothes are friends

    The verdict from avid Rush TikTok fans is that this is unhinged but incredible. Thus far, the University of Oklahoma has shone brighter than the University of Alabama during this “Rush Tok” season.
