King County provides $400,000 to City of Normandy Park for Miller Creek improvements
On Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, the King County Council approved a Parks Capital and Open Space Grant of $400,000 to the city of Normandy Park for improvements at Miller Creek. The city will use the funds toward property acquisition of a 0.76-acre parcel on Miller Creek to create an open space pocket park, restore habitat, and provide education opportunities and public access for viewing salmon in the watershed.

Normandy Park City Manager’s Report for week ending Sept. 1, 2023. Throughout any community, you will find rights-of-way. Right-of-Way (ROW) is defined as all public streets and property granted, reserved, held, or dedicated to public use for streets, walkways, bikeways, and utilities. In Normandy Park, homeowners are responsible for maintaining the ROW adjacent to their property and certain ROW work does require a permit. Activities that trigger the need for a permit include construction, filling, grading, storage, or tree removal. To keep you informed, I wanted to let you know about a change in the permitting process.
