Normandy Park City Manager’s Report for week ending June 28, 2024

    First Quarterly Town Hall Realized

The City Council hosted its first quarterly Town Hall meeting this past Wednesday. These meetings are being held to create a two-way dialogue between the City Council and residents. We hope that by having these meetings regularly, we will receive stronger input from residents, which will help us improve our services.

While it was a smaller crowd, we had robust discussions on various topics, including public safety, parks, crosswalks, emergency management, city communications, and more. Stay tuned for more themed town hall events that are being planned. Thank you to the residents who joined us.

    Bicycle Decorating Event

Join Teacher Ashley from Normandy Park Preschool to unleash your creativity and decorate your bicycle for the 4th of July Parade. This fun activity is happening on July 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at City Hall. We’ll have supplies for you, but feel free to bring your own favorite decorations and supplies to add your special touch to your bike. This is a free event; we’d love to see you there. Just a heads up – no drop-offs, please.

    4th of July Fireworks

Remember the City’s rules on fireworks as we approach the 4th of July holiday. We want you to have a fun and safe celebration, so it’s important that residents follow these regulations. While the discharge of fireworks is permitted, it is also regulated. The following rules must be followed.

    • Fireworks may be discharged within city limits from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 3rd and from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 4th.
    • You must be on private property (with permission of the property owner) – it is unlawful to discharge any fireworks on any public property. Public property includes parks, public open space, public playgrounds, public streets, public roads, or other publicly owned property in Normandy Park.

Remember to have a fun and safe 4th of July!

If you have any questions, please get in touch with me at aarrington@normandyparkwa.gov. Have a great week!
