Allardt currently taking bids on a rehabilitation project for its two elevated water tanks. Project Manager Cain Reed said they will empty the tanks, blast the metal, repair any defects, and add a new coating system that will protect the metal and ensure clean water for the city. Reed said the local community should not see any differences in their water services while the work is in progress.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Dwight C. Jemison has announced his candidacy for Clarksville City Council, Ward 8. Jemison, 52, is a 32-year resident of Clarksville. He was born in Detroit, raised in Van Wert, Ohio, graduated Van Wert High School in 1990, and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he hoped to run for the Army track team. Instead, he said, he was run right into Desert Storm. Two years later Jemison was stationed at Fort Campbell, where he was medically discharged.

Foundation work underway for Seeds of Hope’s first shelter that can house the homeless year-round in Sparta. Seeds of Hope Founder and Executive Director Tina Lomax said the non-profit has provided shelter before but only during the winter months.
