A look at the Best Virginia roster as The TBT kicks off this weekend. The Basketball Tournament (aka TBT) will tip off at the Petersen Events Center this weekend, as the Pittsburgh Regional will take place over the course of the next few days. West Virginia University's alumni-centered team, Best Virginia, will play its first game on Saturday afternoon and, earlier this week, the final roster for the team was revealed in a press release sent out to media.
Wood County Commission still mulling Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department move
PARKERSBURG — Wood County officials are favoring moving the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department to St. Joseph’s Landing. Commissioners Blair Couch and Jimmy Colombo discussed the matter when asked Thursday following the commission’s regular meeting. Commissioner Robert Tebay was absent from the meeting which mostly dealt with probate matters.
5-Star Point Guard Includes WVU in Top 5
Destiny Jackson, a women’s basketball recruit from Chicago, ranked as the No. 24 overall recruit in the class of 2025 by ESPN has included West Virginia in her top-five. Jackson, a 5-foot-6 guard plays for Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, where she averaged 16.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game last season. Jackson will also be playing in the Overtime Select League, a four-week league held in the OTE Arena in Atlanta for ‘elite’ high school girls basketball players aged 14-18.
